McGee-Lawrence Lab Members Present Research at ORS 2025 Annual Meeting
Two members of the McGee-Lawrence Lab at the Medical College of Georgia, Augusta University, participated in the 2025 Orthopaedic Research Society (ORS) Annual Meeting, held in Phoenix, Arizona.
Dr. Husam Bensreti, a postdoctoral fellow, and Colby Gross, a research assistant and pre-medical student, presented their latest findings on bone and muscle interactions in response to glucocorticoid signaling and skeletal metabolism.
Dr. Bensreti presented “Skeletal 11β-Hydroxysteroid Dehydrogenase Type 1 Contributes to Bone-Muscle Crosstalk in Mice”, a study that explores the role of this enzyme in musculoskeletal interactions. This work is a collaborative effort involving multiple researchers from Augusta University and other institutions.
Colby Gross presented “Impact of Glucocorticoid Receptor-Mediated Signaling in Osteoblasts Varies Across Differentiation Stages”, highlighting how glucocorticoid receptor activity influences bone cell development at different stages.
Their contributions reflect the McGee-Lawrence Lab’s ongoing commitment to advancing skeletal biology research. Congratulations to Husam and Colby for representing our lab at this prestigious event!
